Scotty provides the best limited lifetime warranty in the business. If you need service on any of our products, we will endeavor to service your problem quickly and efficiently.
Scotty will warranty its downriggers for the lifetime of the original purchaser. The warranty on other products is generally two years. Scotty will repair or replace (at Scotty's option) any defective products or parts that fail in normal handling or in fishing service, the purpose intended, as a result of Scotty's manufacturing, packaging or handling. If a product requires service, Scotty will either request that a unit be returned to a factory service center or Scotty will ship the parts and instructions to the customer. Typical problems covered under warranty are:
* Broken parts from shipping damage
* A malfunctioning counter
* A malfunctioning electric autostop
* A malfunctioning brake
Scotty can not accept used products for credit. Scotty will repair the
item needing service and return it to the customer.
Typical problems not covered under warranty
* Routine brake cleaning or adjustment
* Upgrades to newer parts or features
* Frayed broken or tangled wire
* Bent arms or other damage caused by a botton hang up
* Problems caused by neglect or abuse (running into docks, pilings or garages)
* Worn out or lost parts from normal use
Service and repairs are available from a number of locations in the U.S. If you have a problem with a Scotty product, it is suggested you first call or e-mail a service center. Often problems can be resolved over the telephone or parts can be shipped that you can easily install. If factory service is required, the unit should be carefully packed and shipped to a service center. Please include a write-up on the problem and your return shipping address.
