Handles and Drag Tension Bearings
The Cannon drag system relies on a bearing, Monel friction washers (2 required) and a drag tension spring. These are normal wear items and should be replaced as the washers are worn. These items are on the shaft the handle screws on and can not normally be seen.

Counter and gear
All units, manual and electric, use the same counter. Uni-Troll HP units with spool inserts for faster retrieve use a smaller gear on the counter. Other models without spool inserts use a larger counter gear. Spool gears press onto the spool and drive the counter gear.
